It felt good?!?!
January 3, 2006
I did it! I actually did a whole workout (Arms and Abs of Steel from the 90’s—it’s on VHS even) without stopping for more than a moment to try to get LL involved in something so she wouldn’t ask for cartoons, Mommy, cartoons! She was so sweet. She asked if I needed help, and if I did, to let her know. She told me to keep the pace of the exercise lady. She told me she could show me how to do it. She told me I was doing a good job. I swear, she is the sweetest little pea! I have had this video for about 10 years, and used it when I was thin and in shape. I hate hate hate! the minutes in the beginning, where every extra ounce is rebelling against being moved from what it considered its retirement home on my hips. But I actually felt good doing it. I felt good eating a bowl of Raisin Bran this morning. I felt good drinking water with lemon. This is so weird. I’m grateful for it, because it’ll make it easier to keep to it (I hope!), but after eight years of not doing hardly anything to be healthy, least of all moving my fat ass off the couch, it’s a strange sensation to feel the ab muscles I thought were not going to be affected until the blimp of a belly came off it first. I didn’t do the triceps stuff she does off the edge of the chair—I have a ball and socket problem, and that aggravates it. But I substituted the overhead triceps kickback thingies.
I swear, I am going to have to learn a whole new language to do this, aren’t I? In a few months, people will come to this site and wonder what the hell I am talking about. Technical terms, schmechnical terms. Blah.
