I seriously don't get myself sometimes. I just did the 4th quarter tax information needed to send to the CPA. It took me about 30 minutes tops, and that was because I tried to determine where the bank and I are off by $0.60. (I didn't get February's statement, so I have no idea which check was cashed for more, but I think I have an idea....my ones look like sevens.) Why do I put off that stuff? It's inputing numbers, not trying to solve Social Security. I make it into a much bigger thing in my head than it really is in real life. Filing too. I did that earlier today, and I could just kick myself. I have great systems set up for the paperwork, partly because of me and partly because of a wonderful professional organizer (Denise Landers, 281-397-0015, www.keyorganization.com). I set up my property files with expanding folders and large, bright folders for smaller sections. She set up my file cabinets with a system called Taming the Paper Tiger (www.thepapertiger.com), which is like a search engine for your files. It's awesome. I just rarely put things away in it, and that makes me behind in everything and makes my office a horrible mess. It's the procrastination and being overwhelmed, but I'll be honest--it didn't take that much time to get the office in order when I put myself to it. I still have procrastinated and spent a ton of time on the computer, not doing work, but I have gotten a lot done. I think, if I put myself to it, I might actually be successful despite myself. Shit, I better be. I have Hummer H2 tastes and Yugo budgets.
