I think I shocked the directress of the Montessori school where Bubba goes and where we have been anxiously awaiting Handsome to become 18 months so he can be enrolled there too. She asked if we'd like for him to come in May, and I said no, the middle of April, actually the minute he turned 18 months, I want him to go there. She laughed, and asked, how many days a week? I said we'll start him off with three days a week. She asked what time we'd like to pick him up, suggesting noon, and she saw the look on my face, and laughed again. I was thinking 2:30 like his sister, but I guess for the first couple weeks, we'll do noon and then move up the time. I know my face told of the relief it will be to have him out from under our feet, always stinking up a perfectly new and dry diaper, having to wrestle him away from my desk in the office where he will grab at anything he can get his little hands on--"I will win a prize at this game!"- and running away from us giggling when we try to dress him. I know I will miss my little guy, just like I miss my little girl when she is away from us, but I am looking forward to a few things: being able to work without hearing Jack's Big Music Show blaring to keep him from crying when he sees me go upstairs, being able to keep the office door open while working so it doesn't become a suana in there with the computer equipment running, daytime showers, daytime sex occassionally, being able to go to lunch at a place without a kid's menu, and knowing that for a few hours a day, he is getting attention and love from a wonderful teacher, Ms. Elva, while his sister gets love and attention from her wonderful teacher, Ms. Celia. They are what's going to save my business and my sanity, taking care of them while we take care of things here. Who knows, I may even work out while he's in school. The possibilities!
