Customer service
A quick way to see if the customer service rep on the other end of the phone is listening, and how much they remember that the conversation may be recorded for training or informational purposes:
Customer Service Rep: Would you like your bills sent to you in English or Spanish?
My response: English, por favor.
Occassionally you can hear them say "Wiseass" under their breath. Or hear the clunky thumping of the cogs and wheels of their brain trying to be moved by that hamster for the first time in the day to process that sentence. Mostly, there's just the still silence in the airwaves, while they try to decide if they should delete your information from the system in retaliation for your response that made them skip a line in their script.
